Job description
In this role you will be part of our cross functional Automotive Sense and Control Development team in Villach and interact with internal and external customers. As a Functional Safety Engineer you will develop and analyze functional safety features in our automotive semiconductor products.
In this job the main duties and responsibilities include:
* Definition of the safety concept/ architecture based on specified safety requirements
* Conduct safety analysis FTA, DFA, FMEDA, HAZOP) with the support of the system architect and the design team.
* Proposing technical solutions for identified issues, based on own experience or existing state-of-the-art in other related projects
* Monitoring the progress of safety related activities and trigger updates based on design changes during product lifecycle
* Defend the safety architecture and their analysis in customer meetings or internal and external audits and assessments
* Staying connected to the Functional Safety communities at Infineon to get insights in other projects and continuously maintain our local state-of-the-art
* Creation and review of patents
Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
* A university degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Telematics, Information Technology, Physics or comparable
* 3+ years of professional experience in semiconductor product development, ideally in the automotive industry incl. functional safety (e.g. ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and other relevant safety standards)
* ISO26262 certification
* Knowledge in safety analysis methods FTA, DFA, FMEDA, HAZOP
* Knowledge of analog or digital chip design
* Fluent communication in English (verbal & written); German skills as a plus
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group G-H (https://www.feei.at/leistungen/informations-service/mindestlohne-und-gehalter-2020). A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills.
