Job description
The main tasks of this thesis work are:
* Conduct a feasibility study on trapped-ion quantum processors with integrated optical components
* Support the fabrication of a prototype device by leveraging Infineon's MEMS- and photonic fabrication capabilities
* Drive the integration of additional functionality into trapped-ion quantum processors

This thesis has to be written in cooperation with an university.
Profile
You are a motivated student (f/m/div)* in the field of physics, microsystems engineering or similar. You are best equipped if you:
* Are a highly motivated student who wants quantum computing to become a reality
* Gained first experience in semiconductor manufacturing, chip design or low-temperature physics
* Trust and respect others & team up to drive value through innovation
* Are fluent in English and German
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/leistungen/informations-service/mindestlohne-und-gehalter-2020).
