1. KWF subsidies
The Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund (KWF) provides companies with targeted support for investments in research, development and growth. Whether a start-up, SME or large company – the funding programmes cover a broad spectrum, from financing new technologies to supporting the market launch of innovative products. The KWF Funding Navigator guides companies quickly to suitable subsidies and further advice. There is a particularly strong focus on sunrise industries such as microelectronics, green economy and smart specialisation.

2. Research premium
Austria supports innovative companies with a research premium of up to 14%. They can claim tax relief for expenditure on research and experimental development. The Carinthian Economic Chamber advises companies on how they can make optimal use of this tool. Whether in the semiconductor industry, in the development of new materials or in environmental technology – numerous companies in Carinthia have been able to increase their innovative strength and open up new markets with the help of the research premium.

3. Support for start-ups
Simple and uncomplicated – that’s how setting up a company works in Carinthia. Short distances, individual advice and an inspiring environment (keywords: Lake Wörthersee! Alps!) characterise this Austrian province. With a close-knit network of investors, incubators and mentoring programmes, build! Gründerzentrum, Makerspace Carinthia, international corporations and cutting-edge research in the neighbourhood, around 2,500 start-ups take off in Carinthia every year.
