Carinthia as a technology location: The future begins here
Michael Stabentheiner (de)
Microelectronics, smart specialisation and the green economy
Carinthia makes targeted investments in key sectors of the future, with strong research facilities, industrial clusters and high-tech companies.
The Villach location has established itself as a centre for semiconductor technology. Global players such as Infineon are working on the chips of the future and, together with SMEs and start-ups, are turning Carinthia into a tech hub on the southern side of the Alps. Lakeside Science & Technology Park in Klagenfurt connects more than 70 companies and eight research institutions in the fields of AI, robotics and sensor technology. At the same time, around 300 companies at the Green Tech Cluster are driving sustainable innovations for the circular economy and renewable energies.
