Carinthia is participating in Mars mission with new helicopter
The first and so far only Mars helicopter “Ingenuity” has written a success story. It was supposed to complete a handful of flights and be the “eyes” of the researchers for 30 days. However, the three-year lifespan amazed experts. He took photos of the red planet in 129 minutes and mapped various locations from the air for the scientists.
Another space project is planned for this year, in which Weiss is also involved: three robots are supposed to swarm out and explore the moon. They constantly exchange information for mutual localization. There are always opportunities for students at the University of Klagenfurt to complete master theses and internships at JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) in cooperation with Weiss’ research group
